Enterprise Library bits

I just sort of stumbled upon this patterns & practices announcement. Obviously the prospect of an "Enterprise Library" was of interest, but from reading the documents it looks just like a repackaging of the existing application blocks.

In reading further though, it looks like part of what might really be going on is the integration or addition of some of Avanade's code, so maybe there is expansion--that would be the good news, the bad news is that only Avanade customers get to see it until sometime in 2005. Avandade talks a lot about its ACE.NET framework, I wonder if this is part of it (open source integrator contributions seem to be on the rise. ThoughtWorks has a few different oss contributions (CC.NET, Neo), HP released some open SharePoint integration tools, telligent is making community projects a core of its ip.

I wonder if we're seeing the last days of consulting shops yammering on about their proprietary base of existing assets as a sales tool?
